‍WHAT IS GAP?

‍Anchor Church GAP exists to help people take a year out, dedicating time to Gospel work and growing through mentoring and training. Our goal is to see you grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus, your understanding of His Word, and your ability to serve and build up His church. It’s a one-year thing that will help to equip you for a life of following and serving Jesus.

‍WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

‍‘Gappers’ volunteer (ideally)  2.5 days a week to grow and serve. Each GAP year is tailored and will look slightly different for each individual. You can expect an opportunity to:

‍Grow in your relationship with Jesus
‍We love seeing people grow deeper in their relationship and walk with Jesus alongside others. Gappers will regularly meet one-on-one with a mature believer to pray, receive support, and be mentored in the faith. 

‍Grow in your understanding and love of God’s Word
‍We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in the Bible, through which we can know Him and be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Over the course of the year, Gappers will aim to read the entire Bible together, reflecting each week on how God’s Word shapes their lives. They will also participate in weekly Bible training sessions, digging into a variety of different topics and truths of the Christian faith. 

‍Learn to Serve
‍We are all different, and God created you the way you are for a reason - He gave you unique gifts, abilities, and a specific personality, all for His glory. With these in mind, each Gapper will select a primary ministry focus within a church ministry team, where we will train you to be more effective in that chosen area. We want to help you grow well into the things God has blessed you with for a life of serving Jesus.We also hope to send you to a few conferences, camps, and trips throughout the year for your personal spiritual growth and ministry training.

‍WHO IS IT FOR?

‍Whether you are working, just retired, about to leave school, doing TAFE/Uni, or you’re just in a season where you reckon it would be good to fertilise your faith - Anchor Church GAP is a sweet investment regardless of what your future may hold. We are encouraged to see you give this year to the Lord and see where it takes you. 

‍WHO PAYS?

‍These programs often cost money to run, and this one is not exception. However, the very kind and generous people of Anchor Church are incredibly enthusiastic about the results that the GAP Year brings - so they contribute significantly to the program. The result is that you pay zero dollars! All your training, camps, and books are all covered. How good is that!
